Since we moved to our condo we have wanted to have a housewarming party. This year has been a little crazy and with two weddings coming up this summer it is not going to calm down anytime soon. However, it has not stopped me from starting to plan our housewarming party. I have decided to go with mad hatter / Alice and Wonderland theme. So here is sneak peak of some of the ideas we are throwing around mostly found on my Pineterest board.
I can't wait it should be fun. After all I am the Mad Hatter.
We had the pleasure of eating at the Napa Rose. It was amazing experiences and amazing food. I had the great salad with lemon Vinaigrettethat was so beautiful I was afraid to eat it. The dressing was so good I wanted to lick the plate. Then for main course I had Filet mignon and it was incredible. We shared the truffled Mac and Cheese It was so amazing I think I may have died and went to heaven while eating it. For dessert we had lemon Creme Brulee. To say it was most amazing dessert I have ever had would be understatement. It was possible the best thing I have ever eaten. To end our evening I had Jasmine flowering tea. If you love tea like me make sure you try a flowering tea. It's wonderful to watch and the taste is great.
What incredible treat for our anniversary. John had an equally great meal. The ambiance was great and the service impeccable. We could have not asked for anything more memorable. Disneyland always ready to surprise you.
I love doing crafts with kids and this clothespin coffee filter butterflies is great for spring. I found similar one on Pinterest .If you have not done art with coffee filters you should start they are cheap and easy to make them look awesome.
Take coffee filter tape it to the tray or table (suggest tray because it get’s a little messy). Let the child color with markers I usually choose one of colors or it will look muddy. After coffee filters are colored all over let them paint with water on top of coffee filter. It will be really wet and then remove the tap. Now set it aside and let it dry. Next color the clothespin I prefer black. When coffee filter is dry put it in the center cloths pin and scrunch it together to create folds. Fan it out for desired wings.
We had great weekend and I official exhausted. We had great time and as always we wanted to stay longer. John and I always find something new and interesting about Disneyland. We ate at amazing Napa Rose I will be blogging about on Wendsday.
It was amazing experience and culinary adventure. We went on the Little Mermaid ride and loved it. Little Mermaid is one of my favorite Disney movies. John took so many pictures of it people were looking at us weird in line. We rode almost all rides we wanted expect splash Mountain and Thunder Mountain. Unfortunately ,we had a lot of ride closures on through out the weekend.Somethings can't be helped ,but overall we were very happy. It was nice trip full of things we loved
.
I can't to go to wait go to Disneyland we always have so much fun. I will post about our adventure at Disneyland later. Here is list of some of my favorite things at Disneyland edition.
Favorite ride: This one is hard in Disneyland it is between Haunted Mansion and Parties of Caribbean. I love rides that captured my heart as child and make me feel five again. Despite the Johnny Depth literally popping up in Parties of Caribbean I still love it. California Adventure rides Soaring over California and Toy Story mania. I am going to make statement here I know some people will not agree with me,but I think Toy Story Mania is one of the best rides in either park. I love that ride and apparently lots of people agree since the line is always horrible.
Favorite restaurant:Blue Buoy or Cafe Orleans .The ambiance in Blue Buoy is amazing and you should go at least once in your life. The food is same in Cafe Orleans and if you are not big on Monte Christo sandwich be sure to have the Pomne Fires . They are best fires you will ever eat. My Second choice may surprise you the corn dog truck on main street. It is cheap good and perfect amount of food for lunch and at $6.00 it is cheapest meal you will eat at Disneyland. My last choice is Big Thunder Mountain BBQ. It is not cheap ,but it is all you can eat and very delicious. The entertainment is hooky, but it's for children after all. It is worth the $24.99 if you take advantage of the all you can eat corn bread, rids and beans.
I have had so many great Disneyland memories, but by far my most memorable is when we won the Star Tour contest. It was one of those experiences I will talk about for years because it was true fan moment. The whole thing was sort of out body experience.
I decide to enter the contest on whim on the Disney blog. Not even three days later I was asked to respond with my basic information. Then it was confirmed I won!!
We were to report at 5:00 A.M to Disneyland front gate and stand in line. Sort of crazy, but sometimes you just need to be that crazy Disney fan. We happily got hotel room the night before and barley slept. Got up in 4:00 had breakfast at Denny’s and got on the bus that took us to the entrance of Disneyland. A huge line had form and we checked in. We got to the back of the line and saw media vans all over and reporters chatted with people.
Then our crazy experiences began. We meet what would become our friends for the day and bigger fans then us in front of us. They were great they were huge Star Wars and Disney fans giving us insight on both. When we entered the gate with our free hot chocolate a sight rarely seen by many the park was empty just a long line winding through the park. I snapped a photo of Cinderella's castle without a soul in front of it.
When we made it to the entrance of the ride and the excitement grow. When we entered into the new Star Tours ride a film crew entered and took this video of us. The ride of course was great and kept the integrated of the old one with new and fun adventures. It was by far one of the craziest and exiting Disney adventure we have had and one of my favorites!
I am wearing purple sweater and black shirt in the third row back.
When you talk about Disneyland as romantic it may not be what comes to mind first. However, I have always found Disneyland to have romantic side. For some reason it is place you can cuddle up with the people you love and wear silly hats and have a great time. One thing you should know about me is I love silly outfits and hats. So for me Disneyland holds a special opportunity to wear ears, hat or outfits. Anyway John and I choose our minnie-moon to be four day trip to Disneyland. The best part was several friends were able to do one day trips and hang out with us. It was such a great trip.
People did look at us odd when we said we were going to stay there for four days, but really it was perfect amount of time. We were able to get everything we wanted to do done. We ate at Steak House 55 and Blue Buoy. Rode all rides we wanted and find out that Disneyland still holds secrets of it’s own if you are willing to look for them.
