Handmade tuesday: DIY hair accessories

Handmade Tuesday is so simple and wearable this week.  I love hair accessories and honestly they are to expensive for something really cheaply made. I love  elastic hair tie seen on Emi-Jay website a wonderfully two girls that donate part of profits to charity,but honestly the $19.99 for eight is bit steep for me. Anthropologie has them as well for $12.00 for five. Imagine my amazement when I walked into Micheal’s to find the elastic band in 60 inches for $3.99. So I had to try to make my own hair accessories. 

What you need:

 Elastic band

Accents / flowers

Fabric glue

Take the elastic band and cut desired length. Tie at the end with two knots. Add the accents simply add to fabric glue on the accents and firmly press it to the elastic band. Put it some place it wont be disturbed for at least two hours. I let sit over night before wearing it.

Handmade Tuesday: Map wooden letter

Handmade Tuesday is here and I have something that has been seen everywhere lately maps. I decide to take a my map into  wooden letters. It was easy and looks amazing. I found cheap maps at libary that they were selling for ten cents each. Making this cheap and easy.

What you need :

Mod Podge

Map

Wooden letter

Scissors 

Pen

Take map and trace the wooden letter and cut it out. Take wooden letter and Mod Podge the map to it. Be sure to make the map has no bubbles or bumps. Let it dry for 15 minutes and add couple more coats on top of the map. Enjoy and keep crafting .

Handmade Tuesday: Button bracelet

Handmade Tuesday is here again. So I have noticed a button bracelet  going around Pinterest. So I decide to try it myself . It is so easy that I am going to say you could do it in five minutes.

Here is what need:

2 Buttons big one and a little one

4 pieces waxed thread (1.5 ft)

tape

scissors

It is is simple put two of pieces of thread in first hole the big button and the second two thread in second hole. Pull throw  so half on each side and knot. Braid both sides. Handmade Tuesday: File folder game color sort

Today I am making educational game for all you mothers and teachers out there. If you have never heard of file folders games you are in for a treat. So the basic idea is a game that is simple and fits in file folder making it easy to store and cinch to bring with you. You can purchase file folder book or search google and find site like this one. Totally time on this DIY is about an hour.

What you need:

• Crayons
• File folder game template ( book or website)
• Glue / Mod Podge
• Brush 
• Scissors

Color the template according to instructions and cut it out. Get file folder out and glue correct pieces to the file folder . Let it dry. Take the pieces that are leftover and put it in bag and attach to the file folder.That is it. Great educational game for on the go in an hour. 

Handmade Tuesday : DIY cardboard book

I have recently become obsessed with making my own book. I like the rustic and handmade feel of it. You can buy books and scrapbooks anywhere,but to make your own and have so many more options such as binding and size of book. It was really not hard,but a lot of prep work is needed. The cutting up cereal box takes some time.

What need:

Cardboard ( I used cereal box)

Binder rings ( found at Micheal’s)

Scrapbook paper 

Mod Podge

Brush / foam brush

Hole punch

Next step decide on the size you want your book and cut apart cereal box to the size you choose. Decide how many pages you want I did four pages all together. Take Mod Podge and glue the scrapbook paper on both sides. Let it dry and hole punch two or three depending on what you want. I did three holes and open the binder ring and put each page on it. Then you have a cute book.

What I love: My first Vlog

This week I decide to do something I have never tried a Vlog. Modcloth on of my favorite online stores is doing a contest on DIY craft vlog. I was nervous and excited at same time. I am comfortable being myself, however I am introducing my new look. 
    I have collected hats for years and love wearing vintage inspired cloths however I have never had chance to wear them at same time and on everyday occasion. This is why I love blogging because it gives me opportunity to be who I am and gives me chance to express that the way I want. So without further a due here is my Vlog.
