Alice Wonderland/ Mad Hatter week

So this week you may feel like you fell down the  rabbit hole with me. That is because you have. I am living and breathing “Alice and Wonderland/ Mad hatter” crafts. 

This first thing I will share with you this week not really something you would use everyday. It is part of my outfit using the old wooden thread spoils.I made a sash.  

If you have lived under rock for last month or two you might not know that old wooden spoils are all the rage. So here are my top ideas of things to do with wooden spoils. Keep crafting.

Handmade tuesday : Five minute embroidered pants

Handmade Tuesday here we come. As some of you may remember I am having a Mad hatter tea party open house. So the really question for every girl is what to wear. At first I was going to be Alice,but after doing research and yes, I read Alice and wonderland and part of Through the looking glass. I realized I was the Mad Hatter not Alice. Since it is my tea party. Here is my inspiration for Mad hatter Johnny Depth’s Mad Hatter costume in Tim Burton’s Alice and Wonderland.

So My project today is embriobiedmaking pant’s with embroidery details. For those of us not very good at sewing they have Patch it up applique that irons on. 

Here is what need:

Iron

So heat up iron on cotton setting and check that your fabric well not be harmed if ironed on that setting. Place applique on the pants and iron for 20 to 35 seconds making sure when turn it inside out  it stays in position. Turn inside out and iron for 40-55 seconds. For care wash inside out and hand wash. Happy pretend sewing.

Alice and Wonderland crafts: Painting the roses red

As you all know I have upcoming Mad Hatter tea party coming up so you will see themed “Alice and Wonderland” crafts. This week I am painting the rose red. I took white roses and dyed them red with food coloring.

What need:

Red food coloring 

fake cheap roses

Towel

bowl 

Take the white roses and take them off the stems.  Put red dye in a bowl and take rose dipping them into dye. Put the flowers on paper towel to dry. I dipped some rose completely and others half in to make them look like they are being painted.
